Designing AI support that knows when to hand over to a human.
MenoCare brings symptom tracking, community, doctor access and contextual AI guidance into one calm mobile experience for people navigating menopause.
Support was fragmented, while each person’s symptoms were deeply contextual.
Interviews with four women across India, Singapore and China showed that users wanted answers in stressful moments, fast tracking and a clear route to professional care. Competitive analysis found no single product combining all of those needs.

We made the AI prominent, bounded and connected to care.
Responses reference logged symptoms instead of returning generic health information.
Every response provides a direct route to book a doctor; AI supports rather than diagnoses.
Symptoms, mood, activity and cycle data can each be logged in one tap.
The product experience

Observed confusion changed the structure, not just the copy.
Testing with four participants showed that every user misunderstood the original AI icon and the generic “+” logging action. We replaced both with explicit labels, simplified the information architecture and removed an anxiety-inducing emergency alert from the home screen.

How I would measure the AI
Activation, repeat usage, AI-to-doctor conversion, time-of-day patterns and the relationship between logged data and engagement would test whether personalisation creates sustained utility.
In sensitive products, trust is shaped by what the AI says, when it speaks-and what happens next.
